Restructuring the dairy sector and increase in consumption.

The Chinese government is mobilizing a wide range of political support (financial tools, regulations and organization) to modernize the agricultural sector and develop large agro-industrial units. In the dairy farming sector, a strategic consolidation decision was made.
The restructuring of the dairy industry in China promotes the establishment of large dairy units operating from upstream to downstream, while at the same time the market demands large modernized farms. This provides an opportunity for French companies, especially for the supply and management of the farms.

Currently, the consumption of dairy products per capita in China is only a third of the world average (32 kgper capita/year – 2013 data). The goal is to reach 36 kg in 2020, with a population growth potential of 6 million a year.
New market trends: yoghurt and pasteurized milk
Being present in the Chinese market to conquer other markets: the Chinese government encourages large dairy groups to invest abroad (New Zealand, Australia, EU etc.) usually recreatingreplicas of the Chinese installations.
